Oioi

 

Description

Oioi (Apodasmia similis), also know as jointed wire rush -  is a restoration essential for swale, wetlands and coastal areas, thriving in tough conditions while stabilizing soil and boosting biodiversity. With its striking reed-like form and coppery seed heads, its often used in landscaping and is appreciated for it’s functionl and beauty.

Salt & Water Resistant: Handles wet, boggy soils and salt-laden coastal winds with ease.
Erosion Fighter: Strong, fibrous roots bind soil, protecting streambanks and estuaries from erosion.
Wildlife Friendly: Provides habitat for insects and shelter for aquatic life in wetland areas.

How to Use It

  • Perfect for riparian zones, wetlands, and coastal dune systems.
  • Pair with harakeke, tī kōuka, and carex for a resilient wetland planting.
